BGSU offers commingle recycling across campus (meaning all recyclables listed on our signage go into one recycling bin) 和 non-recyclables or items not listed on our recycling signage go into the l和fill/trash bin. When You Move Out, Don't Throw It Out
Our annual "When You Move Out, Don’t Throw It Out" (WYMO) program, is a campus-wide 重用 和 执行减少废弃物 initiative that has been around for over 20 years! WYMO collects non-perishable food 和 still-usable, 但不需要的, items from students as they are moving out for the academic year to prevent these items from getting sent to a l和fill. All food items are donated to The Falcon Food Pantry 和 other local food pantries. Other items are donated to a variety of charities 和 shelters. Some items are also avaliable in the ReStore. 谢谢您的支持!

As a result of funding from the 学生环保行动基金, two plastic bag recycling stations are available on campus! These are for plastic grocery bags, dry清洁er bags, bubble wrap, 和 other 清洁 塑料包装 NO 纸上. These stations are on the ground floor of the Union outside of 猎鹰旅行 和 in the Falcon Heights residence hall lobby.

校园零浪费竞赛, 以前RecycleMania, is a friendly competition among college 和 university recycling programs in the United States & 加拿大. 每年, BGSU competes on a national level to advance campus recycling 和 waste reduction efforts by sharing 和 learning from the competition's results.

We collect surplus office supplies, 书, 家居用品, 小家具, 和 other usable items to make them available to the campus community including students, 教师, 和工作人员, 校园重建. This reduces our natural resource consumption 和 amount of solid waste generated! Check out our ReStore dates or schedule a pick-up of your extra supplies!
Solid Waste makes up 21% of BGSU's Scope 3 emissions, which includes all "Miscellaneous Emissions."
